WINNER of  the Male Vocalist of the year at the Australian Celtic Music Awards in 2014 and in 2018 Male artist of the year. His song "Take me back to Melbourne" placed 8th overall in the Australian Songwriters Association Awards in October 2018. 

Kieran O'Connell originally from Coachford, a beautiful little village in the Lee Valley in "The People's Republic of Cork" Ireland. Kieran  Immigrated to Australia in 1982 and landed in Melbourne, a city known for it's ethnic diversity and culture. 

Kieran joined an established band called "The Liberties" on guitar and vocals. He later started a band called"Highland Paddy" with his brother Dan and had many years of great success in Melbourne and around Australia even doing a few stints in Singapore. 

Kieran moved back to Ireland for a year in 1992 but on his return to Australia started a band called Shanakee again having much success in Melbourne and Victoria. He recorded his first CD with Shanakee of all original  songs in 2014 called "Weeds and Wildflowers" 

Life's a Journey (A song for you) was released in 2017 and again has all original content. Kieran has taken some of the most requested songs from Weeds and Wildflowers along with new material to produce what is a cracking album.
